Dedicated to the memory of Frederick "Fred" Flintstone Howison

Our darling boy passed away on Wednesday 4th November aged fourteen. He was so full of life and we honestly believed him to be well and healthy. Unfortunately, just five days before we had to say goodbye to our little angel, he started to show signs of being very poorly and in great pain. After many visits to the veterinary practice in the days leading up to his death, it was discovered that our beautiful boy had cancer, chronic renal failure, gallstones, arthritis and spondylosis. Naturally we were devastated and heartbroken. And our world collapsed within a second.

We are writing this memorial because we are absolutely broken and we are hoping that honouring him will help us grieve. None of us could have imagined that a heart could hurt this much, but we are inconsolable.

Fred will be loved for eternity by his mum, dad, sister (who was like a second mum to him) and his feline brother; Barney. And he will be forever missed.

Fred was born in Bath in October of 2006. He and his brother; Barney came to us in January of 2007.

Fred was such a wonderful little boy and was so full of life and energy. He was always a little bow-legged and his dad would refer to him as "Fred van Persie" because of this. A great insult considering we're all Manchester City supporters.

Fred's favourite toys were Kong toys and he loved playing with his many Kickeroos. Fred also enjoyed playing "fetch" with both bouncy and paper balls all through the house and was so full of energy, he'd often tire himself out. He took delight in partaking in playfights with his dad, nipping and affectionately chomping his fingers. And he would always make us laugh when playing "peek-a-boo" quite unsuccessfully.

Fred was loving and had such an amazing bond with each member of his family, although he especially hero worshipped his mum. He had the ability to offer such great comfort and had a true gift for easing the pain of others.

Fred was a hero and a true legend and was taken from us far too soon at the age of fourteen, just thirty days after his fourteenth birthday.
